Music in the garden
August 7, 2010, 5:30pm - 8:30pm |

Music in the Garden is an
exciting new event for the Garden. Kicking off the inaugural
evening will be jazz vocalist
Kelley Johnson with the John
Hansen trio. Kelley Johnson is an international award winning
jazz vocalist who is known and respected as an arranger, poet
and lyricist with a personal body of recordings. Kelley’s lithe
velvety voice mixes with a feisty delivery, tricky colorful
arrangements and features the gifted and inspired jazz pianist,
John Hansen. An organic groovy singer with a direct approach,
Kelley reaches her audience with storytelling, subtlety,
soulfulness and swing. This promises to be a wonderful summer
evening of music in the garden. |
Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy this
wonderful evening of jazz with us.

Art in the Garden
August 27, 28, 29

Looking for an out of season color
punch in your garden? How about a sculpture in vibrant blown
glass? For outstanding garden art ideas visit our three day
exhibit of Northwest artists sponsored by Gallery By The Bay.
Gayle Picken, gallery owner, will jury and invite twenty five
Northwest artists to exhibit garden art in metal, wood, glass,
bronze and other outdoor materials.
The August 27 to 29 exhibit and
sale will be staged at the Visitors Center and is open to the
public. All are invited to see jewels for the garden and patio.
Many of the artists will be available to share artistic
techniques and tips on garden placement. Members and guests are
welcome and a percent of all sales will be donated to garden
support. Special thanks go to Gayle Picken and Gallery By The
Bay for their on-going support of the garden.
