Heptacodium miconioides

An infrequently seen, autumnal-blooming shrub recently introduced from China by the Arnold Arboretum.
Fragrant white flowers are followed by fruit enclosed in showy, red persistent sepals.
Robust stems develop bronzed, exfoliating bark with age.
