Leontopodium alpinum

Extra notes and interesting information

Good in rock gardens.
Great for drying.
Short-lived, often treated as a biennial.
This is an endangered species, so be aware of where plants or seeds are collected if you obtain one.

Height/Spread:
6-12 inches high, and about a foot wide.

Leaves:  Leaves and stems are wholly and gray.
Flowers: Small, white or yellow, flowers form at the tips of the stems, surrounded by wholly bracts.
Diseases/pests:
 No significant problems.
Conditions:
  Full sun, plenty of water, excellent drainage.
Natural Range:
Mountains of Europe
Hardiness:
Zones 4-7
